Privacy Policy — OwnGlobal
Last updated: May 2026
Our Commitment to Privacy
OwnGlobal (ownglobal.net) is committed to protecting the privacy of our visitors. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws. This policy explains transparently what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
Data We Collect and Why
Anonymous analytics: We use Umami Analytics, a self-hosted open-source solution running on our own servers. Umami does not use cookies, does not transfer data to external services, and does not enable individual user identification. Collected data is strictly statistical: visit counts, popular pages, device types, and geographic location at country level.
Contact and comment data: If you contact us or submit a comment, we collect your email address and the content of your message. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties.
Technical security data: Cloudflare automatically processes IP addresses for DDoS protection and spam prevention. This data is managed by Cloudflare under their own privacy policy and is not accessible to our editorial team.
Cookies and Tracking
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any tracking pixels. We have no integration with Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or other individual user tracking tools. The only analytics tool we use is Umami, configured in privacy-first mode.
Your browser may temporarily store technical tokens for form security (Cloudflare Turnstile CSRF protection) — these expire when your browser session ends and do not enable personal identification.
We Do Not Sell Data
OwnGlobal does not sell, rent, or transfer personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. We do not engage in email marketing campaigns without explicit consent. We do not share data with advertising networks or other commercial entities.
Data Retention
Contact form data is retained for a maximum of 12 months after the last exchange. Approved comment data remains visible as long as the article is published; you may request deletion at any time via our Contact page. Umami analytics data is anonymous and cannot be associated with any specific individual.
Your GDPR Rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, port, restrict processing of, and object to the processing of your personal data. You may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.
For any privacy-related request, contact us via our Contact page. We will respond within 30 calendar days.
Data Security
Our servers are protected by firewall, SSL certificates, and regularly updated technical measures. Access to personal data is strictly limited to authorized personnel. In the event of a security incident that may affect your data, you will be notified as required by GDPR.
Third-Party Services
We use Cloudflare for DDoS protection and CDN services. Cloudflare processes traffic data per their privacy policy. No other third-party data processors have access to personal data collected through this site.
Policy Updates
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect legislative or technical changes. The current version is permanently available at https://ownglobal.net/privacy. Continued use of the site after changes are published constitutes your implicit acceptance of the updated policy.
